Dear Mishpachah [Family]:

The Torah reading for Elul 13, 5781 is (Davarim) Deuteronomy 21:10–25:19 called Ki Tetze meaning “Because You Go”. The Haftorah reading is Isaiah 54:1-10. The Writings in Messiah reading is Matthew 5:33-37.

Dance Practice this Thursday at 4:30 PM. We will be practicing dances for the High Holy Day Services.

High Holy Days come early this year. Rosh Hashanah Service is MONDAY, Sept. 6th at 7:00 PM. This feast starts the 10 Days of Awe where we examine ourselves, and repent of sins that may keep us from fellowship with our Heavenly Father.

Road work on the corner of Jeff Hamilton and Dawes Roads is still a work in progress; therefore, our Food Outreach Program is still on hold.

The Double Torah readings for Iyyar 12, 5781 is (VaYikra) Leviticus 16:1–20:27 called Acharei/Mot meaning “After the Death/Holy”. The Haftorah reading is Amos 9:7-15. The Writings in Messiah reading is Matthew 5:17-20 + vs 48. Counting of the Omer is Day 27.

Dance Practice this Thursday at 4:30 PM. We will continue to learn new dance for Shavuot.

Food Outreach April 25th and set-up time is 1:30 p.m. Thanks to all who help. With road work in front of our building, we do not know who will come. But, if we can help one family it is worth it.

The Torah reading for Kislev 26, 5781 is B’reisheet (Genesis) 37:1–40:23 called VaYeshev meaning “And He Dwelt”. The Haftorah reading is Amos 2:6–3:8. The Writings in Messiah reading is John 10:22-28. Since we are teaching on Hanukkah, we will be reading from 1 Maccabees instead of the Torah parashah.

Ladies “Sewing Get-together” this Thursday beginning at 10:30 AM.
We have been enjoying our Potluck Oneg on Shabbat. The Servers will continue to wear a mask/gloves as they serve the food in accordance with Covid guidelines. Thanks to all who bring wonderful dishes.

Hanukkah Party will be December 13th at 6-9 PM. Bring your family Hanukkiyah, 4+1 candles and lighter for an unified lighting ceremony. Games for the entire family with prizes. Dance Practice this Thursday at our NEW time of 4:30 PM. Everyone is doing great. NO dance practice after Hebrew Class, Oct 3rd. We will be taking a short break.

We will NOT have our “Sewing Get-together” this Thursday at CTL. Will resume after Sukkot if everyone is willing on Oct 14th.

Sukkot will be celebrated Shabbat service October 3rd at 10:30 AM with a special service as we rejoice before Adonai and thank Him for His provision, love, and Son, Yeshua.

Beginner Hebrew class taught by Elizabeth will be held at CTL after “Brown Bag” lunch. The artwork of the letters learned have been beautiful, keep up the good work. Next letter will be the Hey.

Food Outreach last Sunday; we served 16 families consisting of 50 people. Thanks to all who helped. We are again in need of shampoo, toothpaste, bath soap, etc. We appreciate everyone who contributes to this outreach.

The Torah readings for Tishrei 8, 5781 is Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32:1-52 called Azinu meaning “Give Ear”. The Haftorah reading is Hosea 14:1-9. The Writings in Messiah reading is Romans 10:16-21.

During the Ten Days of Awe, we should reflect on our walk with Adonai; seeking His face to see if there is anything in us not pleasing to Him.

Yom Kippur Kol Nidre Service Sunday, September 27th at 7:00 PM to start our fast. The Ne’ilah (Closing) Service Monday, the 28th at 6:30 PM. This is when we wear white. Since we are in a Covid pandemic, we will break our fast with everyone bring their own food.

Sukkot will be celebrated Shabbat service October 3rd at 10:30 AM with special service as we rejoice before Adonai and thank Him for His provision.

We will be in prayer for the “Return” march/gathering that will be held in Washington DC; organized by Jonathan Cahn and others. Our nation is at risk.

The double Torah readings for Elul 23, 5780 is Devarim (Deuteronomy) 29:10–31:30 called Nitzavim/Vayelech, meaning “You Are Standing/And He Went”. The Haftorah reading is Isaiah 61:10–63:9. The Writings in Messiah reading is Romans 10:1-13/Romans 7:7-12.

Dance Practice this Thursday at 6 PM. We will review the dances for Shabbat service and continue to learn “Yeshua” for Rosh Hashanah Service. Dance Practice after Hebrew class around 2 PM.

“Sewing Get-together” Thursdays beginning at 10:30 AM at CTL. Come and let’s sew together and help one another with whatever project you are working on…quilting, handwork, etc.

Beginner Hebrew class taught by Elizabeth will be held at CTL after lunch. Please bring graft or ruled notebook paper and pencil. She will be teaching from her book, “Yeshua”and the Hebrew Alef-bet, that is now ready. Price $10.00. Next letter will be the Bet.

Rosh HaShannah Service next Shabbat, the 19th, at 10:30 AM. We will start the new year with round hallah and apples and honey, then have our “Brown Bag” lunch. This is a special service that begins the Ten Days of Awe. ___________________________________________________________________
